When Bullies Come to Power

As the nation focuses on former Secretary of Homeland Security Kirstjen Nielsen’s fall from favor, Stephen Miller is steadily climbing the rungs of success and influence.

Miller came into the spotlight after it was revealed that he was the mastermind behind the president’s cruel family separation policy at the U.S.-Mexico border and when his uncle, Dr. David Glosser, wrote a piece for Politico titled, “Stephen Miller Is an Immigration Hypocrite. I Know Because I’m His Uncle.”

Now, the president has put Miller in charge of the administration’s immigration policy following the forced resignation of Nielsen, who the president considered to be too lax in her policies.

Harris filed campaign finance documents Thursday showing $34,000 in expenditures for something called “reimbursement payment for Bladen absentee, early voting poll workers; reimbursement door to door.”

Labor Secretary Under Fire

No less than 15 congressmembers are calling for an investigation into Labor Secretary Alexander Acosta’s role in Jeffrey Epstein’s 2007 plea deal.

A report released by the Miami Herald sparked the calls for an investigation as it revealed that Acosta helped billionaire and serial sexual abuser Epstein secure a plea deal to end an FBI probe.

Wisconsin Republicans Staging Legislative Coup

Wisconsinites are taking to the streets to protest an unprecedented power grab orchestrated by Republicans to weaken the incoming Democratic governor.

Despite the fact that Democrats won every single state-wide race in Wisconsin this year, the state’s Legislature remains predominantly Republican thanks to the most gerrymandered election map in the United States.

Now, the Legislature is taking advantage of that imbalance in power by passing bills during the lame duck session that will severely curtail Governor-Elect Tony Evers’ ability to achieve certain campaign promises.

Emantic Bradford was shot dead by police in an Alabama mall on Thanksgiving in what police claim was a case of mistaken identity.

Initially police claimed that they’d killed an active shooter in the mall. Then they admitted that the man they had killed wasn’t the shooter.

This week an autopsy confirmed the worst fears of the Bradford family — that EJ died for absolutely no reason and was shot from behind.
