12 Years to Avert Catastrophe

The United Nations climate panel released a new report that warns that humanity only has 12 years to drastically reduce carbon emissions or risk devastation.

The report was issued by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), and warns that if humans do not take drastic action to avoid a global 1.5 degree Celsius increase, we will begin to experience severe droughts, floods, sea level rise, extreme heat, and of course, ensuing famine, poverty, and disease.

After a summer of intense wildfires, hurricanes, tropical storms, and flooding, the report hopefully carries a little extra weight for those who still deny the effects of climate change.
