As Flakey As Ever

Swing vote Senator Jeff Flake (R-AZ), has announced his support for Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh.

TODAY, April 14th, 2016 at 12:30pm, in the Senate Radio/TV Gallery (S-325) Senators Harry Reid, Charles E. Schumer, Debbie Stabenow and Bob Casey will call on all Senators to sign onto a new letter, organized by the Democratic Leadership and Judiciary Committee Ranking Member Leahy, urging Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and Judiciary Committee Chair Charles Grassley to give President Obama’s Supreme Court nominee, Judge Merrick Garland, a fair confirmation process.

Swing vote Senator Jeff Flake (R-AZ), has announced his support for Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh.

Despite the doubts he expressed last week and his encouragement to listen to the available evidence before making a decision; and despite the gut-wrenching testimony he heard, Flake has decided to support Kavanaugh.

His decision makes it likely that Kavanaugh will pass the Senate Judiciary Committee vote and move on to an open vote on the floor.

Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-IA) has scheduled a final vote for this afternoon; Democratic women expressed their disgust with the proceedings by walking out of the hearing room.

He was confronted by a group of protesters demanding an explanation for his decision.

“You have power when so many women are powerless.”

Ranking Democratic Committee member Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) criticized Kavanaugh sharply for his behavior during the hearing.

“I have never seen a nominee for any position behave in that manner. Judge Kavanaugh used as much political rhetoric as my Republican colleagues — and what’s more, he went on the attack.” — Feinstein

Action groups are preparing emergency response protests across the country should Kavanaugh receive an affirmative vote.

Iron Triangle Press will continue to follow this story.
