Two more Palestinian protesters were killed by Israeli soldiers Friday amidst the ongoing March of Return protests.
The victims have been identified as Karim Abu Fatayer, 30, and Sa’adi Akram Abu Muammar, 26.
They are the 169th and 170th people killed by Israeli forces during these protests, which began March 30.
Their deaths came only days before renowned Israeli peace activist Uri Avnery passed away at the age of 94 in Tel Aviv.
A German by birth, Avnery and his family fled the Nazis and ended up in Palestine in 1923.
He founded the news magazine HaOlam HaZeh in 1950 and devoted most of his life to promoting peace between Israel and Palestine.
Iron Triangle Press will continue to follow the protests in Gaza.
