DemocracyNow! Speaks with Ahed Tamimi

Ahed Tamimi was freed from an Israeli prison after an 8-month sentence she received for slapping an Israeli soldier.

She struck out against the Israeli soldier after discovering that her cousin had been shot in the head by an Israeli sniper with a rubber-coated steel bullet, leaving him severely injured.

Tamimi was arrested in the middle of the night at the age of 16, and her mother was later imprisoned as well under charges of incitement for posting the video of her daughter confronting the soldier.

Watch Amy Goodman and Nermeen Shaikh speak with Tamimi and her mother, Nariman, from their home in the West Bank village of Nabi Saleh.
