On Wednesday, CBS reported that White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders planned on leaving her position at the end of this year. Yesterday, she denied the report.
In an article published Wednesday titled, “Sarah Sanders, Raj Shah planning to depart the White House,” CBS News claimed that both members of the White House press corps would leave their positions by the end of this year.
Sanders quickly issued a denial via Twitter Wednesday evening, saying that she loves her job and has no plans to leave.
Thursday afternoon, however, a reporter asked Sanders if she has any empathy following a press conference regarding the thousands of immigrant children separated from their parents at the U.S.-Mexico border.
There’s still a chance she could see the light and realize that she probably shouldn’t continue to act as the mouthpiece for an administration that is routinely violating human rights, but until then, CBS better not get our hopes up again unless it’s for real.
