The Waffle House Hero

Last month, James Shaw Jr. saved dozens of lives when he wrestled an automatic rifle away from an active shooter in a Nashville, Tennessee Waffle House.

The 29-year-old who was also injured in the shooting has raised over $224,000 for the families of the victims through a GoFundMe page.

Although it’s been almost three weeks since the incident, the White House has only recently announced efforts to organize a meeting with Shaw Jr.
